About Me

My name is Madeline Tubbs. I created this website as an extension of my Girl Scouts Gold Award "Let's Bee Friendly." Honey bees and pollinators in general are being threatened from many different areas. As a result, our environment and our food supply are in danger. If we do not take steps now to address gaps in understanding about these amazing creatures, nutritious fruits and vegetables will be scarce and very costly, plants that rely upon pollination to reproduce will die off permanently changing our landscape and our everyday lies will be altered.

Through documenting my experience in raising my own backyard honey beehive here, speaking engagements throughout my community and educating gardeners about bee-friendly pest management, we can all become bee-friendly people!

It was the bumble bee and the butterfly who survived,

not the dinosaur.

Our Mission

Let's Bee Friendly

Hello! In December 2022, I earned the Girl Scout Gold Award for my project Let's BEE Friendly. This website is a part of that project. Today I am serving the New Jersey Beekeepers Association as their 2024 NJ Honey Queen, spreading knowledge across the state about the importance of honey bees to our society. If you want to learn about honey bees - you are in the right place!
